T-32 Medical Students

Short-term Training Program

Our short-term 2–3 month summer program offers medical students hands-on experience in sleep and circadian science through workshops, networking, and mentored research.

Research areas include basic science models, sleep health mechanisms, and sleep and health interventions. This is a unique chance to build research skills and professional connections in a growing field.

Program goal: Trainees complete a secondary data analysis project with a mentor during the summer program, which leads to submission of a conference abstract(s) and, ideally, a peer-reviewed manuscript during the following academic year.

Medical student scholarly project: This is a longer term involvement through the School of Medicine Scholarly Project.

Interest applicants should complete the online application form or contact Linda Willrich, the program administrator at willrichl@upmc.edu.
