CSCS Annual Research Day 2026

Tuesday, November 10, 2026
William Pitt Union Ballroom

3959 Fifth Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15260

Join us for the Center for Sleep and Circadian Science's annual research day. This event highlights the innovative and transdisciplinary sleep and circadian research across the translational spectrum taking place here at Pitt and other local universities and institutions. It also provides us with the opportunity to network with colleagues.

Dr. Phyllis ZeeThis year's David J. Kupfer Keynote Speaker is Phyllis Zee, MD, PhD.  Dr. Zee is a leading expert in circadian and sleep medicine. She is the Benjamin and Virginia T. Boshes Professor in Neurology, Director of the Center for Circadian and Sleep Medicine, and Chief of the Division of Sleep Medicine at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Zee founded the first U.S. circadian medicine clinic and has authored over 300 publications on sleep, circadian rhythms, and related disorders. Her research explores links between circadian-sleep interactions and cardiometabolic or neurological diseases, including interventions like light therapy, exercise, and neurostimulation to improve cognitive and metabolic health. She has held leadership roles in major sleep research organizations and received honors such as the American Academy of Neurology Sleep Science Award, the William C. Dement Academic Achievement Award, and the Sleep Research Society Distinguished Scientist Award.

Researchers with an interest in sleep and circadian science are invited to submit an abstract to present during the conference’s dedicated poster session time. You will also have the option for your abstract to be considered for a data blitz presentation.

Abstracts should provide relevant background information, well-described methods, study results, and a statement of significance. You may submit an abstract (in the correct format) for a poster previously presented at other local or national meetings within the past academic year, as well as works in progress (including experimental designs and preliminary results).

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

Abstracts Submission Deadline is Thursday, September 17, 2026 (end of day).

This event is open to all faculty, trainees, and students at the University of Pittsburgh and UPMC and other local universities who are interested in sleep and circadian research.
