Emily is a licensed speech language pathologist and Ph.D. student in Communication Science and Disorders, within the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences. She participates as a trainee in the T32 Translational Research Training in Sleep Medicine program. Emily’s research focuses on neural and cognitive mechanisms of language re-learning in the context of post-stroke aphasia treatment. Emily’s dissertation project examines how sleep function impacts response to post-stroke aphasia treatment, and will determine treatment-driven neurobiological changes in relevant brain structures that support this underexplored relationship.
