Tired and Stressed:  The impact of sleep and circadian regulation on oxidative stress and lifespan”

Using Drosophila, we will show that one function of sleep is defense against acute oxidative stress and one function of circadian regulation is modulation of basal oxidative stress.  Both of these conserved functions contribute to protect the organism against disease and aging.
