Research Interests
Michele L. Okun, Ph.D. is Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Dr. Okun received her doctoral degree in Health and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Colorado Denver in 2005. Dr. Okun is interested in evaluating the implications of disturbed sleep on neuroimmune and neuroendocrine markers as they relate to women’s health outcomes. Her present research focuses on the assessment and interpretation of disturbed sleep and inflammation during pregnancy and its role in the incidence of pregnancy complications.
